R5 RUSSIAN NKVD POINTED CAP (SHLEM) - Scarce cap circa 1939-40
after ,which it was discontinued as impractical. This one is black for
NKVD troops. Large red cloth star to middle. Exterior good with some
period wear. Side buttons with hammer and sickle motif. Good grey
interior with various Russian stampings. Size 57. Purchased from large
old Moscow collection. £ 165

J5 JAPANESE HELMET - BATTLE DAMAGED - The classic Japanese helmet
of WW2 and very unusual to find one of these with battle damage. 2
bullet holes, one next to star and the other to the right side skirt.
Both with larger exit holes through the rear of the helmet. Liner
present but dry and partially detached. Good solid shell. Only battle
damaged Japanese helmet I’ve ever had.

very light surface rust. Nice brass star in relief to front. Good canvas
liner. Full length chin tapes. Size 56 which is large for a Japanese
